In The Spotlight Summer Intensive.
Our Summer Intensive is a 6 week program designed to teach any performer the basics of Musical Theatre. While attending each week in order allows participants to maximize what they’ve learned, please feel free to only attend the weeks you feel called to. The program runs Monday-Thursday evenings from 6pm-10pm (July 4th being the only possible exception). Tuition is $200 for all 6 weeks, or $50 a week if you’re not attending the full program.
Picking Rep That’s Right For You
This week we’re going to focus on where to find material that best suits who you are as an actor. Where should you look? Which songs are overdone? What’s your type? We’re going to answer these questions and more!
July 1st-4th (possibly 5th)
Ever wonder how Broadway actors are able to belt those high notes 8 shows a week? Well now you’re going to learn how! We’re going to go over the basics of vocal technique, and learn how to truly warm up our voices.
Theatre isn’t just about acting on a stage. There are numerous roles, both onstage and off, that most people don’t know much about. We’ll this week we’re going to change that. Come ready to learn about costuming, lighting, sound, set design, and management. You never know, you might walk away a techie!
Monologues & Scenes
Now that you’ve found the perfect rep, it’s time to learn how to master it. This week we’ll be going over the basics of how to approach text, and I’ll teach you how to deliver it in an honest way. After all, acting is just behaving honestly under imaginary circumstances.
Acting the Song
Acting a scene and a song are the same, right? Nope! They have a number of things in common, but there are distinct differences. This week we’ll be adding to your skillset, and you’ll learn all the tools necessary in order to act your song as well as you sing it.

This week we’re going to be putting everything you’ve learned together, and learning about how to book the show! We’ll be focusing on both professional and collegiate auditions, and you’ll leave ready to show the world what you’ve got.
